WORKSHOPS

TAKE '5' (Adults)
6 hour workshop for all skill levels
Does choosing fabric make ya crazy? Need a quilt in a hurry? Come to this low
stress class and learn how to trust your instincts in choosing fabrics. Learn
The Teacher's Pets' simplified approach to ending the fabric jitters. You will
spend the day cutting out and arranging the fabrics for a large lap quilt while
learning to work and rearrange your fabric blocks on a design wall. What I like
to emphasize in this class is that there is not one right answer to any fabric
choice, but there are tips and tricks that can make choosing your fabrics lot
easier. This one block quilt with no matching seams can be pieced in a 6 hour
class, with all quilts looking totally different!!! Pattern required.
TAKE '5' For Kids
6 hour workshop for children, ages 8-12
Children will learn rotary cutting and basic piecing skills as they maneuver
through this smaller version of the adult sized Take '5' quilt. Simple fabric
choices and color management enhance their growing quilting skills. Fun
activities and manipulatives included in this 6 hour class increase the child's
sense of accomplishment as they complete each block towards a finished quilt
top. Pattern required.

LECTURES
From There To Here! - 1 Hour
In this lecture, I discuss how The Teacher's Pet began and the steps that have
brought my design business to where it is today. I will use many of my quilts
and fabrics to illustrate the steps along the way.
Instincts Don't Stink! - 1 Hour
In this lecture, I discuss how colors, patterns and pre-conceived notions affect
the fabric selection process. Laced with humor, this lecture will leave the
listener taking a closer look at her fabric selection process and learning to
listen to the "inner voice".
How DO you DO That? - 1 Hour
In this lecture, I discuss the process of fabric design, from creation of an
idea to the finished fabric and coordinating quilts.
What Does All This Cost?
3-4 Hour Workshops - $300. 20 students maximum, each additional student $25
each by permission of the instructor
6 hour Workshops - $500. 20 students maximum, each additional student $25 each

I prefer to limit the number of students in my workshops so that I can spend

students, but this does limit the one on one interaction time with each student.
